Made in Europe is not a sticker

A lot of teams want AI in project management. And they don't dare.

Not out of technophobia. For good reasons. Customer data lives in the tool. Who processes it, where and for what purpose is unclear with most vendors. The data protection officer wants an answer that doesn't exist. So the AI feature stays off. Or the whole tool goes.

The problem with "AI features"

The big PM tools have all retrofitted. Copilot here, assistant there. Bolted onto products that were never built for it.

Opaque data flows. Which data goes to which model? At which vendor? In which region? The documentation stays vague. "We may use third-party AI providers." Often that is all it says.

DPA chaos. Data processing agreements that drag subprocessors along in chains. Every new AI provider is a new subprocessor. With every update the list can change. Anyone who wants to review that seriously needs half a full-time position for it.

No control. The AI feature is on or off. Which model runs behind it is the vendor's decision. If they switch providers, your data moves along. Without anyone asking you.

That is not ill will. US tools are built for US customers. Over there, hardly anyone asks these questions. Here they do. Rightly so.
